If Katherine Harris becomes a senator and says some of the stuff she said during the campaign, then that would be great fodder for the late night comedians. Bad politicians make for great comedy.

By the way, I am ripping off your idea on my blog, but it is reasons to vote Democrat instead.

Until 2004 I would have said: SCOTUS. Now that that's taken care of, who cares? Your one vote doesn't make any difference anyway. Oh, wait, I forgot--you live in Florida. I suppose there it's possible for a single vote to make a difference--well, if you're allowed to vote, that is. On the other hand, if you live in Florida nobody's going to count your vote to begin with if it's not for the right candidate, so you're back to not mattering.

Now, Scott, you know its impossible to pack SCOTUS (which is, on the whole, a good thing). Roosevelt could not do it, and GOP Presidents have given us Souter, Kennedy, O'Connor and (I think) Stevens. The tradition of "conservative" judges changing on the court is rather strong. Roberts might flip, and so might Alito. And Scalia will not flip, but will remain liberal on First Amendment cases.

Thomas is John Danforth's greatest shame.

BTW, I am a subject of her majesty, so I cannot vote anyway.
